Eight days before America celebrates her 250th birthday, James Gunn will drop his new Supergirl movie with the official tagline:

“Truth. Justice. Whatever.”

He didn’t just change Superman’s motto.

He took the female hero who used to make every little girl believe she could be strong, helpful, and good…

…and turned her into a smirking, eye-rolling drunk whose entire philosophy is “Yeah Whatever.”

This isn’t a reimagining.

This is deliberate desecration.

And for Warners to release this trash the week before we mark 250 years of the greatest nation on earth…

…a nation that always reaches for something higher…

…that’s the REAL INSULT.

And THAT’S why they’re going out of business.

Because clearly they HATE what they’re doing, and they HATE the people they’re doing it for.

“Gunn isn’t making Supergirl”

Okay, I’m gonna break this down real simply because a lot of people here are clearly unaware of how these movies are actually made.

1. The DCU is designed to mimic the MCU in both its production and execution.
2. The MCU isn’t driven by filmmakers, it’s driven by corporate executives who exclusively hire filmmakers that will do whatever the studio execs want, without question. This is why you hear so many people say that every Marvel movie is the same, because they don’t hire filmmakers with unique styles or identities.
3. Since the DCU is trying to copy this, it’s only accurate to say that the MCU and DCU aren’t the visions of filmmakers, but rather the visions (or lack of visions, to be more accurate) of studio heads, as they are the ones with final say on the films. For Marvel, that’s Kevin Feige. And for DC, that’s James Gunn. And in both cases, they aren’t actual filmmakers. They’re either incompetent producers or hired hands/yes men who both delude themselves into thinking that they’re profound storytellers.

So while he may not be listed as the director of the film, since Gunn is the ultimate authority on how the movie ends up, he essentially is the one making the movie.
