When I was younger, I rebelled against the idea that cooking was something I was obligated to do. As I grow older, I’ve begun to fear that if I don’t learn my grandmother’s and mother’s recipes, I’ll lose the flavours I love most. Both of these things can be simultaneously true.

When i criticized the high level of violence against women in India last week an Indian woman told me "don't turn this into a gender war" and it deeply disturbs me how everyone, men and women chooses to be so indifferent and blind to violence against women
Not possible due to the degrading system called "casteism", where cleaning is never my job, but of that man in the lowest rung of the hierarchy.
Unless this changes, nothing else will. It's structural.
