The youth constitute the largest segment of Kenya’s population and represent one of our country’s greatest assets, presenting us with a tremendous opportunity to drive innovation, productivity and economic growth.
Hosted Dr. Jean-Luc Stalon, UNDP Resident Representative in Kenya and Carole Kariuki, Chief Executive Officer of the Kenya Private Sector Alliance (KEPSA), at the National Treasury for an update on the progress of the https://t.co/uGOUIBtg7c Youth Employment Programme.
The Programme is a strategic partnership between the Government, UNDP and the private sector that equips young people with market relevant skills, workplace experience, professional networks and employment opportunities.
The Government will continue to implement strategic interventions, including the National Youth Opportunities Towards Advancement (NYOTA) Programme and the https://t.co/uGOUIBtg7c Youth Employment Programme to expand employment opportunities.
The Kaptagat Forest Ecosystem comprises the Kipkabus, Penon, Kaptagat, Sabor, Kessup and Elgeyo Forest Stations. I am pleased that the ecosystem has now been fully restored, with the final section, a 22 hectare grassland at Chebior in Sabor Forest Station, planted today.
As we mark this milestone, the next phase of the Kaptagat Integrated Conservation Programme (KICP) will shift from forest restoration to the rehabilitation of the Keiyo Escarpment and hanging valleys, as well as the promotion of tree growing on community and private farms.
