Two years ago, I met Quang Do right after he left Google.

At the time, I was just starting to explore Vietnam as a launchpad for Proplytics.

Quang told me Vietnam was changing fast. Quang was spot on. I was lucky enough to see the same thing.

Many smart founders are now choosing Vietnam as their starting ground. The country is full of hungry, talented people ready to build. OV Ventures saw it early.

→ They funded bold founders.
→ They expanded across borders.
→ They made real bets when it still felt early.

A few weeks ago, I saw OV show up in my own backyard — San Francisco.

Vietnamese communities are still small in SF.
- It’s not because there’s no talent.

That’s what made this night different. I was surrounded by awesome Vietnamese founders who’ve been battle-tested.

A few months ago in Vietnam, we had two options for our demo video:

1. Do the standard investor-style video — problem, solution, market, the usual.
2. Do something kind of insane. Extremely hard. Risky. Painful to pull off. But fun as hell.

We had 4 days before everyone flew out. Nick Wu, Felix and I spent night after night brainstorming hundreds of ideas. Different angles. Different formats. Nothing landed. Nothing felt like a hell yes.

Until suddenly… one did.

What we didn’t know was how brutally hard it would be. The next day was chaos: Booking agencies. Calling favors. Finding actors. Training a dog (yes, really). Writing. Shooting. All at once. Thanks to Thao Do for assisting with urgency and organization, we managed to make it through.

Then came editing — a whole different beast.
Dozens of cuts. Reshoots. Soundtracking. Rewrites. Weeks of late nights.

Somehow, it came together.
Somehow, it worked just enough.

And no — this was not done by AI. It was real. It was risky. It was fun.
All real. All practical.
