Fun fact: Most “cowboys” were Black men, their white counterparts were called “cattlemen” the term “cowboy” comes from when “boy” was used as a racial epithet for Black men. Over time this original meaning got lost & cowboys got white washed.
A LOT of MENTAL HEALTH ISSUES disappear when bills are paid, rent is secure, and the fridge is full. Peace is expensive. And pretending money doesn't affect mental health is privilege.
The way people respond to a bubbly personality really concerns me. Ever since I was a kid I noticed how people try to break your spirit when you’re too nice, too happy, too outgoing, too friendly. People that wanna know why you’re so gung-ho are unwell and are out to get you
We can’t have nice things because the white folks in this country are too racist to share with people who don’t look like them. They would rather burn it ALL DOWN than share! Reagan created the “welfare queen” myth to use racism to dismantle the social safety net for everyone
The erasure of black girls in media is real and don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. It’s to the point where you can’t ignore what’s happening. There’s no valid excuse as to why black girls can’t be cast in these y/a projects or why there isn’t more black led y/a projects.
The conclusion of His & Hers just keeps spinning in my mind.
I was actually surprised by how shocked people were at the end because how many times have we heard these stories?
This series is underrated and the issue at hand deserves way more attention and dissection.

It’s really surprising that people are shocked that Gen Z don't enjoy work. Back in the day, work was to let you buy a home, travel and set up a few nice things for yourself. Would you feel the same way about work if it lead to none of the above ??
Not to be a corn plater but I always notice that Carl will gently introduce a middle-ground to gauge Aniya’s feelings (in this case, meeting in Nantucket instead of Denver) and then visibly feel relief when she accepts it and/or offers something better. He did this during the “walls” convo too. So he’s trying to protect himself by not coming on too strong, but also wants to see if she’s as enthusiastic about their relationship as he is.
There's a black lady in Japan who owns an operates a lawfirm that specifically helps Japanese women sue their US Soldier baby-daddies [frequently also their rapists] for child support in the US Regime legal system, and I believe that she is doing holy work by punishing those men.
I was invited to a sleepover once in middle school once. When I got there I was the only Black child. My mama stayed for awhile then informed me that I would be leaving with her instead of sleeping there. I was SO angry & cried all the way home. I get it now mama. I get it.
