Y’all are taking this scene completely out of context.

Mok isn’t apologizing because Mira is a woman. He’s apologizing because of what the job requires.

A field that he knows is male-dominated.

Look at the conversation.

He says, “I owe you an apology, Mr. Thee. No one told me your new assistant was a woman.”

People stop right there and scream “MISOGYNY!!” without watching what happens literally 5 seconds later.

Mira asks, “Is that a problem, sir?”

If Mok’s issue was simply that she was a woman, that was his chance to say yes.

He doesn’t.

Before Mok can even explain himself, Thee answers:

“I told you already, Mok. I don’t care whether my assistant is a man or a woman. This is my turf.”

To me, Thee understands exactly why Mok apologized.

Mok has spent his whole life protecting Thee. Now Hong Kong is sending someone else to replace him. His concern isn’t “Why did they send a woman?” His concern is, “I hope Mr. Thee doesn’t think Hong Kong isn’t taking his safety seriously.” since close protection jobs are usually placed in the hands of man not because women can't but because of how men are biologically built.

That’s why, after that, Mok doesn’t keep talking about gender.

He immediately tells Mira:

“Being his assistant means helping with ARSENI’s business and looking after his safety. I hope you understand what I’m saying.”

Notice how he shifts the conversation from who she is to what the job is.

He’s making sure she understands that this isn’t a normal assistant position. She’s becoming the head bodyguard of the son of a mafia boss. That’s a job where someone’s life literally depends on you.

And the very next episode proves that.

Mok tests Mira, while she was distracted. He manages to get close enough to put a gun to her head without her noticing. Then he asks:

“How am I supposed to trust you with Mr. Theerakit?”

That’s not because she’s a woman.

That’s because she failed on her job.

If Mok were actually misogynistic, we’d see him constantly disrespecting Mira because she’s a woman. Instead, once she’s doing the job, he treats her like a colleague. He answers her questions, works with her, and his criticism is about whether she can protect Thee and not about her being female.

Y’all are reducing the whole scene to one sentence and ignoring everything that comes after it. The conversation was never just about gender. It was about the responsibility of protecting one of the highest-ranking members of a mafia family.
