By the soft glow of the Christmas tree, your friends and family gather.
Your boyfriend, we'll call him Jeremy, of FIVE (not long at all) YEARS - gets down on one knee......
Your mom begins recording on her iPad as your aunt starts screaming.
@ready4polyamory ...is anyone saying they're not? All breakups and the associated pain are of course valid. I've never been treated as disposable by partners the way I was when I was poly though
@MaryjaneBrodeck @bartleby_era Yes, of course your risk increases exponentially unless you're closed. Otherwise the 'web' of people you could be exposed to gets very big very fast
@soitgoes31 @bartleby_era Also in SF, and the latter. I've had horrifyingly bad experiences in the 5 relationships I tried it with. Basically a way for people to get some of the benefits of relationships with no real commitment or stability. It's a joke.
@bartleby_era It's awful and exhausting. I tried ENM 5(!) times before just accepting that it's for people who are emotionally immature and have no concept of commitment or healthily resolving conflict, which are...not things I look for in a partner
