Christina Grimmie died on June 10, 2016, at the age of 22.

Here's how she died.

She died from gunshot wounds to the head and chest, and the death was ruled a homicide.

Now, this is how it happened.

After performing at a concert in Orlando, Florida, Grimmie stayed behind for a meet-and-greet with fans.

While she was signing autographs, a man named Kevin James Loibl approached her.

She opened her arms to hug him, thinking he was a fan.

He suddenly pulled out a gun and shot her multiple times at close range.

Her brother tackled the attacker, who then shot himself at the scene.

The tragedy shocked fans worldwide because Grimmie had built a huge following on YouTube and became widely known after finishing third on The Voice in 2014.
