A lady died because she wasn’t breathing fine at a party but didn’t speak out because she didn’t want to bother anyone. She slumped on the spot and died. During her funeral, her sister said she was the type who never spoke out even when being intimidated.
It hit me that confidence was taking control over your life even if it means bothering people. So even while my heart was racing and it felt like I could pass out from anxiety….I spoke up .
If someone was in my way , I spoke up
If I needed to get something done, I spoke up until It became a part of me.
This is 100% true.
Unfortunately however, black hair is too intricately linked to “survival”. Undoing that will take enormous work, alongside dismantling so many other systems.
See how the natural hair movement was at its peak when we had a good few yrs of precedented times…
It's so interesting to see women get engaged and all their content switches to wedding planning only... like sister is this not a gym page? Where are the workouts?? 😭
Misty Copeland, who helped Timothée Chalamet promote #MartySupreme, has weighed in on his comments about ballet and opera:
“First I have to say that it’s very interesting that he invited me to be a part of promoting ‘Marty Supreme’ with respect to my art form ... He wouldn’t be an actor and have the opportunities he has as a movie star if it weren’t for opera and ballet and their relevance in that medium. So all of these mediums have a space and we shouldn’t be comparing them.” https://t.co/tG3lRUqWqw
