@KSL5TV The guy was obviously one of those "sovereign citizens" who like to cause minor issues then turn them into massive ones for everyone involved. Why not use those tazers I see on their belts? I guess it'll come down to whether the "unholstered" gun was in his hand or just there.
@fox13@SpencerJosephTV I think every member I know is sincere in their concern for their neighbors and their desire to be like Jesus. Unfortunately I also think everyone above the stake level of leadership is more sincere in their concern for their own public image and status.
@fox13@SpencerJosephTV I demonize the corporation with apostles who have round the clock security, travel in luxury, wear nice clothes, and make everyone stand when they enter and exit a room.
@magarthbrooks @fox13 Just thinking about it I imagine I would be horrified about that secret getting out, getting arrested, and going to jail with someone possibly finding out what I did. I think I would be more than willing to have someone else make the phone call.
@magarthbrooks @fox13 I get it, but what are we supposed to think when they don't turn themselves in and continue their criminal abuse while also being seen as a member in good standing? If you are ready to repent, you should be willing to do the time. What better way than someone else turning you in?
Hey @scottnorton! Everytime I have Flapjack Friday for my kids I quote from this promo. I love saying "I made a LOT of pancakes!" No one ever gets it even though I've played it for them multiple times :(. Anyway, I just thought I'd tweet you about it. https://t.co/rNVD958ET7
@RexDog57@KUTV2News Punishment doesn't seem to be a good deterrent anyway. How many sex offenders only have one victim? Or even one conviction? My dad got busted with illegal porn then a few years later was being investigated all over again when he died. They need actual help or extermination.
@RexDog57@KUTV2News I seem to remember repentance including accepting legal accountability for things you do. I would think confessing to a bishop then turning themselves in would be a strategy of minimizing punishment ("look, I feel so bad I turned myself in. Take it easy on me"), not repentance.
