Tax on money that’s already been taxed several times over is criminal to my mind, regardless of a family or individuals’ wealth.

I’d be interested to know whether anyone’s managed to work out the average percentage of tax we pay in the UK per £1 earned over a lifetime, when considering:

- Payroll taxes (NI / Income Tax etc)
- Tax on dividends
- Sales tax e.g. VAT
- Capital gains tax
- Inheritance Tax
- Council tax
- Property taxes e.g. Stamp duty
- Insurance Premium Tax
- Vehicle Excise Duty (Road Tax)
- Licenses (TV license etc)
- Fuel duty
- Alcohol Duty
- Tobacco Duty
- Congestion charges
- Low Emission Zone charges
- Road Tolls
- Parking charges
- Airport tax

And that’s without mentioning all the indirect business taxes which impact the cost of getting products and services to market e.g. Customs duty, gaming duty, climate change levy, landfill tax, business rates, corp tax, Employers NI, etc, etc.

I’m sure there will be other hidden and indirect taxes I’ve missed.

Don't think that these new leaked details about Imane Khelif will change anyone's minds. He could have dropped his shorts and teabagged everyone in the room at the Olympics and the gender cultists would still have maintained that he's a woman.
