One signal stays clean for attack. The other is heavily compressed for body.

I blend them together to get power, energy, and life.

When I mix Afrobeats, I like to make the drums and percussion really punch through.

It helps the rhythm stand out and makes the beat feel alive, almost like it’s jumping out at you.

I spend time tweaking the attack of each hit so everything feels tight and grooves perfectly.

I wrapped up a highlife mix yesterday in the classic style of artists like Osita Osadebe, Oliver De Coque, Rex Lawson, Victor Uwaifo, but rooted in Igbo highlife. Even though I didn’t understand the lyrics as a Yoruba listener, the music itself was clear.
