As a result of this patient's actions, @PennyMordaunt agreed to a meeting if elected, to the discuss the broken mental system .
We call on all elected politicians to do the same. #election2024
We’ve had commitments from @AlisonEBennett, @PennyMordaunt and @Georgia_Gould to meet to discuss the youth mental illness crisis if elected.
This is just the start.
Here is our founder May sharing their story with @PennyMordaunt last night.
🚨BREAKING: @PennyMordaunt is confronted by youth mental health patient ⬇️
"I hold you and your government personally responsible for almost killing me."
We’re in a mental illness crisis.
‘It took 8 admissions into inpatient units and 3 years for me to be assigned a community psychiatrist.’
We’re calling on all parties @UKLabour@Conservatives@TheGreenParty@LibDems to prioritise youth mental illness provision and care.

Thinking of the 72 people who died, those who survived & those whose loved ones were killed in the Grenfell Tower fire.
7 years on, no accountability
High-rise residents are still at risk
Recommendations aimed at govt remain outstanding
Grenfell victims deserve justice
Today marks 7 years since the Grenfell Tower fire. 72 people lost their lives in this preventable tragedy. They were victims of corporate greed and institutional neglect. The fight for justice is far from over.

1/1 Child mental health paying the price for severe under-funding. Powerful stats from RCPsych @DrElaineLockha1
“It’s unacceptable that so many children & young people are reaching crisis point before they are able to access care. We cannot allow this to become the new norm”
In 2022 our founder was attacked on a ward. There was no report made of the incident and no measures put in place to stop it happening to other patients.
Appalling news coming from @SkyNews today about sexual assault in psychiatric inpatient units. Unfortunately, we are not surprised by this news. Units can be dangerous places with very little trained staff. The most vulnerable need and deserve proper care. https://t.co/v8kNYO7mkG
"I've been passed around from service to service, with no one wanting to take responsibility for my care - I'm not alone."
Our team member May reflects on the growing youth mental health crisis & the action needed to tackle it.
