One thing I’ve never really been able to help people with is how to pass aptitude tests, because, honestly, even I don’t fully know.

I wrote a lotttttt of assessments during my job search, I passed some and failed others, so I can’t exactly claim knowing a hack for it.

Once you get past the assessment stage, it’s much easier to share interview tips. But when it comes to GMAT-style questions (quant, verbal, data, spatial reasoning), it’s mostly a mix of grace and whatever arithmetic/deductive foundation you already have.

I do think the fact that I was preparing for my GRE at the time helped a bit. But beyond that, I’ve never had clear-cut advice. Even when we say practice past questions (which is the best advice anyone can give), that’s mostly to get your brain into problem-solving mode, because the actual questions you’ll face will likely be completely different.

Here, let me help you out. If you’re unsure about the issues Christians should focus on, here’s a simple guide: they involve matters that impact the body of Christ, challenge the foundation of Christianity, and matters concerning who is speaking.

For instance, if a different religion displays what they believe on their own property—such as on their fence—not on neutral territory like a bank, school, town hall, or roadside, it’s not something we need to address.

Similarly, when an unbeliever criticizes practices like tithing, vigils, prayer, or fasting, it’s expected and not surprising. However, if a Christian makes such claims, it calls for a discussion. In that case, we turn to Scripture for guidance and clarity on the issue.

In 2009 during my NYSC, I earned N22,500 from Wema Bank plus N10,000 from the federal government of Nigeria. It was enough money for me to enjoy with friends in Abuja. Few years down the line, my income improved exponentially. At some point in 2011, I got offered around ��15,000, then £33,000 per annum after completing my PhD in 2015. The rest is history.

Now to the main point - If you get a job paying N100K in Lagos, Abuja, Ibadan, Port Harcourt or Enugu after NYSC please take it if you don’t currently have a better option.

If you are in the UK take that £25,000/year job and if you are in Canada take that $30,000/year job. Start from somewhere, gain real life experience, develop fantastic employability skills and brand yourself excellently.

After a while, aim higher and apply for better jobs. Don’t get stuck. Don’t wait forever doing nothing. Make sure you are earning and learning constantly!

You can also consider starting a small business and building a profitable brand.
