a week ago i started posting here every day
the first 3 days i was basically talking to myself. under 200 views a day
this week: 6.8k impressions, 82 likes, 45 replies, 58 → 110 followers
not big numbers. but every one of them is a real person who stopped to read something i wrote, and that still feels crazy to me
thank you. week 2 starts in 4 hours
@lydiahallie Smart solution, since cached tokens are that cheap
anyway, you probably don't want to wait until you're compacting a million tokens

used 1 billion tokens in claude code today
here's what it would cost on the opus 5.5 api:
cache reads: 1.01B tokens × $0.20/M = $202
cache writes: 30M tokens × $5/M = $152
output: 1.3M tokens × $20/M = $25
fresh input: 12K tokens = $0.05
total: ~$380 in one day
without the cache:
input: 1.04B tokens × $4/M = $4,160
output: 1.3M tokens × $20/M = $25
total: ~$4,185 in one day 👀
the cache saved ~$3,800
i'm on the $200 plan and used ~18% of my weekly limit
@amjustadam 3d boxers? i tried building that with gpt 6 astra
i've seen people make amazing 3d with it, but it never worked for me. tbh i never really dug into it
so you're telling me i have 115 followers, and if i gain ~25 a day i hit 10k by the end of 2027?
and that's almost guaranteed $500–1,000 a month from x payouts?
if you're from a third world country, that's good money. so why wouldn't you do it?
a year is about how long it takes to learn a new skill and find a job. a job that probably won't pay you even $500

unpopular opinion: ai is making coding, marketing, content creation and so on easy. a lot of jobs will disappear. a lot of people already stopped thinking and let an llm think for them. but the same ai lets you learn anything 10x faster than 5 years ago.
about 10,000 years ago people couldn't write. the only way to share an idea was to tell someone. then writing showed up, but books were rare and almost nobody could read. the printing press made books cheap, more people learned to read, and schools spread. then came the internet. and now ai is making learning and finding information faster again.
every one of these was a step forward for humanity. ai is the next one.
