I am honored to be presenting my Undergraduate Poster at the SPSP 2023 Annual Convention. This work wouldn't be possible without the youth of Salinas, committed educators, and the Lifting the Bar team. #SPSP2023

@JeffreyRMillman@grahamserwin with assignments early on is a great step toward getting students to realize their limitations before using them to write last minute papers that likely have wrong facts or bad arguments.
@JeffreyRMillman@grahamserwin It’s great to see school administrations acknowledging the existence of these technologies and defining their place within the values of academic integrity. Leaving their use in a gray area will only encourage academic dishonesty. And encouraging students to use them

Lots of appreciation to @takatufscholars for paving the way for this achievement. The skills I learned through the program and the support I receive through the international scholarship are important factors that led me to pursue research!
My second co-author paper on repeat expansions in cancer is now published in Nature! It’s been an incredible learning experience doing science with my mentor @grahamserwin and the team. Super grateful and excited to do more science! https://t.co/FyBbrTQ3ls
It’s been a challenging but very fun three-ish years working on this research with Graham as my mentor. So glad we finally get to share these amazing results with everyone!
I am very excited to share our manuscript, A genome-wide atlas of recurrent repeat expansions, available on @biorxiv https://t.co/tEfuBtKQPk
This paper has everything, cancer genomics, chemical biology, HiFi sequencing …
A gifted student, @itsrashidalabri, stepped up. Rashid developed a technique to account for the read depth in the local vicinity to control for changes in copy number. Our ability to detect these rREs improved a lot!
