@UK_murph @Roolockwood I tried to read as little as possible about her ‘case’ before I saw it but it makes no difference if you do or not. The film is not so much a cheap Dateline step by step of what she did but a fascinating depiction of two extremely and very differently dysfunctional people.

@Roolockwood The genius of the title and content is that you can and do see everything, unless you choose to think it’s all buried under layers of nuances. It’s a fascinating depiction of how truly dysfunctional people can bring each other down a path of destruction so easily and so quickly.

@paisitfwd @adamtaggart This is not a Dateline episode so it’s definitely a challenge for people with attention span issues. The movie is a brilliant simmering not only of her perception of her of herself and the project itself but also of their very dysfunctional relationship.

@adamtaggart Finally saw it today. To your truly insightful comments I’d add they’re both HOT MESSES for very different reasons. She’s socially-handicapped at a disturbing level and he’s basically using her as he pleases. She’s the prey and he’s the hunter. The only victims are the children.

@realMaalouf The real issue is: were the natives happier back then than they are now? One would have to be really disingenuous to think they’re happier now. And it has nothing to do with technology and everything to do with today’s sickening oppression. But, hey, let’s bash the colonizers.
