We bid farewell to our old fleet

The fleet’s last official week of service will be the week commencing Monday 22 June, with an old train operating on the Yellow and Green Metro lines from 9.30am to 5.30pm all week, up until the early evening of Friday 26 June.

Proud to see the TTC’s Leslie Barns Carhouse being officially named after former Mayor @iamdavidmiller tomorrow.

As TTC Chair, I was proud to help lead this project from concept through delivery. Leslie Barns was critical to the rollout of Toronto’s accessible low-floor streetcar fleet and remains one of the TTC’s most important modern transit facilities.

A few notable facts:
• 26,000 m² facility
• 30 streetcar service bays
• Maintains the TTC’s 264 accessible streetcars
• Dispatches 120+ streetcars daily
• Includes a major green roof to reduce stormwater runoff and improve environmental performance

A fitting tribute to a mayor who strongly championed public transit and city-building.
