When was the last time you look up and outside of interfaces and get inspiration as a designer? The last week’s hiking trip brought this topic up for me and think is still relevant to share, this week I want to share with you a few nature documentation that you can look through the lens of a designer. Enjoy!

A lot of people were asking me about how to understand if this is the right place for you to work. Don’t forget: Interviews are the first product/projects you create together. When you look at it this way, a lot of perspective around it will be different. This week I have shared a few uncommon signals to watch out, so that your research will also serve you.

Most of the urgency in feeds are not mine. And probably for many, it’s not yours too. I am asking myself and my coaching clients set of questions and I explain why it serves me when the noise gets loud.

I have built my portfolio website from ground up to experiment with vibe-coding tools and dropped my 3 honest takeaways for product and design leaders who wants to roll up their sleeves and start building for themselves.

I am writing again, on a new Substack called “Dilara's notes”. It is my corner for the questions and patterns I keep returning to as the work around us changes. First one is up!

@comdirect Business Day 8 of trying to reach someone about a declined depot application that is currently blocking me for asset management. Multiple Emails ignored, chat ignored, no phone option. I’m an existing customer. Please provide assistant asap.
If new members can buy bands, why can’t replacements be shipped? I feel trapped paying for a service I can’t use. Either send me a band immediately or refund my subscription. This is unacceptable and I am done waiting and talking to cs agents and hearing unhelpful apologies
@WHOOP it’s been almost a month since my replacement request and I still don’t have a band. I’ve lost weeks of data, my routine is gone, and all I get are delays + excuses.
Why is flat design “over”? I agree with @bchesky, and I’ll add it’s a want for what’s lacking. I keep coming back to this article from 1927. Just like people then craved more beauty and artistic detail in reaction to decades of mass-produced utility, we are here again. What Airbnb shipped isn’t just 3D, it shows the loving care of the maker behind every fraction of a pixel. When it’s easy to produce things in mass quantity, people crave craft that shows care. The AI era is our new industrial era and the same rules apply.
@willahmed@ed_baker_whoop, I really admired what
@WHOOP is doing as a newbie and wonder if you're exploring ways to deepen personalization for female health. As a designer with passion for better products that addresses our cycles, bodies & rhythms, I’d love to hear from you.
As @WHOOP launched new stuff last week, I reflected. Not as a power user or athlete, as a woman caring for her well-being. Why does a “comprehensive” app still feel like it doesn’t get me? Female health still remains an afterthought. Not to rant, to invite perspectives below🧵
4. Peri/during/post-menopause aren’t even mentioned in many onboarding flows. No space to reflect hormone shifts, identity changes, or how it impacts sleep, energy, and recovery. Maybe its filtered out based on age but hard to trust as it's not deeply personal for me either.
