Your NO always means a YES to something else.
And it feels good to say YES to YOURSELF.
What you say YES or NO to reflects your priorities, and your finances will reflect those priorities!
If you’re waiting for someone to tell you, “Honey, you deserve so much more”... it’s never gonna happen.
Stop waiting for permission- from your boss, your family, your friends, whoever.
And if you’re still waiting... here. Permission granted.
From me, RIGHT HERE. RIGHT NOW.
DON’T RELY ON PAYCHECKS
Most of a rich person’s income comes from investments – not paychecks. Earned income is the most highly taxed form of income, while tax rates on investments are WAY less. Diversify with investments, put money into your 401K or route it to a Roth IRA.
ALWAYS SEE THE GLASS HALF FULL
You can’t get rich by hiding money under your mattress. Where other people see fear, rich people see opportunity. If you want to enjoy big rewards, you’ve got to be willing to take a risk every once in a while.
USE DEBT IN THEIR FAVOR
Most people go into debt to purchase liabilities that don’t have any ROI. BUT rich people use debt positively to buy assets and increase their investment income, which can help them cover the interest expense on their debt.
TURN THEIR CAPITAL QUICKLY
A rich person takes $1 and turns it into $2 ASAP. Then they take the initial $1 out and reinvest it somewhere else. This is called the velocity of money, AKA growing your money exponentially by moving it quickly.
SPEAK THE LANGUAGE OF MONEY
Financial literacy is KEY to making and keeping your money. You’ve got to understand and manage your finances, ask the right questions, and have the knowledge and information that empowers you to make informed financial decisions.
ACQUIRE ASSETS, NOT LIABILITIES
Rich people spend their careers acquiring assets that build their wealth while everybody else focuses on making just enough to spend on liabilities.
Someone graduated at 21, but waited 6 years to get a good job.
Someone had no education, but was a millionaire at 25.
Someone married at 30, but divorced 5 years later.
Someone married at 40, but found everlasting love.
You’re not late.
You’re not early.
You’re on time.
FOCUS ON DIRECTION, NOT SPEED. What matters isn’t what your finances ACTUALLY look like right now. What matters is that you’re taking action to make your finances just a little bit better each day.
