Ten years ago today, Britain voted for Brexit.
Voters were promised simple solutions to complex problems. Many were convinced it wouldn't actually happen, or that there would be no real consequences if they voted to “send a message”.
They woke up the next morning to a very different reality.
What followed was years of economic uncertainty, slower growth, and businesses moving investment elsewhere. Many now regret their vote, and Britain is still grappling with the economic consequences.
Albertans should learn from that mistake. Danielle Smith should have learned from it.
Every Albertan must take the threat of separation seriously. We all have a responsibility to stand up for Canada. Alberta’s New Democrats are proud Canadians, ready to fight for Canada and make sure separatists don’t get their way. We need to spread the word, to vote, and to convince everyone we know to vote.
At the same time, we need to give Albertans something to look forward to: good jobs, a growing economy, strong public services, and a government focused on lowering the cost of living. Alberta's New Democrats have a plan to do just that.
Better is possible. 🇨🇦
It will be a tragic own goal if Vancouver gives Granville Street back to cars after the World Cup. It has created a valuable new centre of gravity in the downtown. The city is much better for it. @BrentToderian
Allen Graves is sick. One of the most insane possession game monsters in NCAA history. Raptors stacking 6’9 guys that have gamebreaking defensive playmaking and passing/rebounding for their size.
Going to be one of the most interesting teams to watch in the NBA.
What we are seeing in New York City isn’t a “blue wave”, it’s a new era of socialist-democrat policy that truly represents what the people want.
New York City is about to be the blue print for the rest of America, may this wave reach all the way to the White House in 2028
"In Albania, the situation has completely spiraled out of control.
The Albanian people are calling on all celebrities to speak out publicly about them. Amplify our voice to the world. We will not accept the occupation of our land by the United States and Israel."
The wealthy elite will fight tooth and nail against free college for two reasons:
1. it will be harder to fill the ranks of the military with poor people if college is free.
2. starting off workers with enormous debt is the greatest innovation that capitalism ever came up with
