~Various trade and market associations in and around Connaught Place have submitted requests seeking protection for their shops and establishments against disruptive elements and unlawful gatherings.

~Delhi Police appeals to protesters and general public not to participate in any gathering that violates the orders issued under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), which is currently in force.

~Appropriate legal action will be taken against those who violate these orders.

~Delhi Police also said it could facilitate a select group of people to wave the national flag and sing the national anthem at a "suitable" place.

Land acquisition for Pune's proposed 83.12-kilometer inner ring road is gathering momentum, with proposals for 39 hectares across eight villages in Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) limits submitted to the district administration. The administration aims to complete land acquisition for these areas within the next three to four months, covering Wadachiwadi, Pisoli, Yewalewadi, Gujar-Nimbalkarwadi, Mangadewadi, Bhilarewadi, Ambegaon Khurd, and Jambhulwadi. PMC has sanctioned ₹1,088 crore for land acquisition in its jurisdiction, while four of the villages fall under Town Planning (TP) schemes, which will streamline the process.

Overall, the ₹25,159.88-crore project requires acquiring 734.90 hectares of land across 44 villages in PMC, PMRDA, and Fursungi-Uruli Devachi areas. The total budget includes ₹6,928.57 crore for land acquisition and ₹18,239.32 crore for construction. To minimize land acquisition hurdles, a 5-to-6-kilometer tunnel is planned between Shivane-Warje and Bhugaon.

Old Monk is NOT rum, according to FSSAI.

FSSAI has asked Old Monk to call itself a “Rum Flavoured Spirit” instead of “Rum”.

This is because instead of using actual rum, Old Monk uses a neutral alcohol spirit as its base, and puts an artificial rum flavour and caramel colour to give it its rum like taste and appearance.

The same thing happens with Indian whiskey. Even though India is the world’s largest consumer of whiskey, a lot of what is sold as whiskey in India isn’t real whiskey.

Many whiskey companies in India also take a neutral alcohol spirit and add artificial whiskey flavouring and caramel colour to it.

And that is also why most Indian spirits are not officially recognized as whiskey in markets like the EU, UK, and US.

Let me make one thing clear. Whether you drink real rum or a rum-flavoured spirit, both are unhealthy. In fact, according to the WHO, no amount of alcohol is completely safe for health.

Note: Old Monk may contain up to 5% actual rum in the neutral alcohol after adding artificial rum flavour and colour.
