Many Catholics have a Protestant understanding of the faith. They seem to think Jesus suffered and died so that you wouldn’t have to suffer and die. The reality is that Jesus suffered and died to transform your suffering and death. Preparing for martyrdom is not a black pill. It’s not doomerism. It’s understanding why you got baptized. You were reborn to die well.
