@pucksanddreams_ The fact of the matter is Larkin just doesn't fit the Sharks' timeline which is why this proposal is nonsensical. This isn't about the 'raw value' that Larkin has, it's that the Sharks aren't going to throw away their future to go all-in right now.
@pucksanddreams_ Asking for Misa in a trade, and then immediately trying to tell Sharks fans that he's actually not very good when called out is a good bit
@monahan00 The Sharks are absolutely not in "win-now" mode, have you seen their defense? Not to mention their offensive core is like 20 years old. Larkin doesn't fit their timeline at all.
@sanlosesharks@Sheng_Peng Toffoli $6,000,000
Eklund $5,750,000
Askarov $2,000,000
Steak Dinner $45,000,000
Dickinson $950,000
someone who is good at salary cap please help me budget this, my team is dying
@StaalForOne@PatrickLabbe8@JFreshHockey Yes, Niemi and the Blackhawks swept the Sharks in the 2010 WCF on the way to winning the cup. He signed with San Jose the year after.
@EastCoastSJSFan@2MINIHULK Toffoli has an NTC until 27/28, where it changes to a 15 team list. Seeing as he signed in San Jose for stability more than anything else, I don't see him leaving anytime soon.
@spookfishie@willmackupdates I don't know about this one specifically, but exhibition matches don't count, so sometimes teams will just do stuff like OT no matter what for fun/practice.
@cnd0011@shaaaaaaaaaarks I don't know why I've seen so many people say that the Sharks dropped 2 spots in 2023, they had the 4th worst record and drafted 4th overall.
@RickettsSTHmemo@M_J_C13@zerodarksports@MikeBartner From a Sharks perspective he looked fine, especially given that he was dealing with injury and mostly playing 3rd line minutes. It's far too early to judge Frondell/Misa with any certainty but both players have impressed so far. Next full season will be big for both
@sirpoopsalot376@VinnieP3912@NikSmiith The difference is the Sharks traded two 2nd round picks for Sherwood, whereas this hypothetical Morrissey trade is Dickinson and the 9th overall. I'm not saying I wouldn't want Morrissey, just that I don't think he's worth that package at his age given where the Sharks are.
@sirpoopsalot376@VinnieP3912@NikSmiith In terms of pure skill/value exchanged this isn't a terrible trade, but Morrissey is 31, the Sharks don't do this because he doesn't really fit our timeline.
@K_Rob1987@soIoucity The Sharks have met the Ducks in the playoffs twice. In 2009 the Ducks upset the #1 seeded Sharks in 6, and then in 2018 the Sharks swept the Ducks and sent them into a rebuild.
@shaaaaaaaaaarks@DeanS_B I'd be okay with three years max as a placeholder until the prospects (or new hypothetical roster additions) are ready to take over. I'll admit I'm also somewhat emotionally invested in the idea that he'll be here for the first Sharks playoff game but that shouldn't take priority
@NickZazulia@JFreshHockey The story of the Sharks (and that line especially) is that they spend half the game hemmed in their own zone hemorrhaging shots against, but if the other team makes a single mistake Celebrini makes them pay. Analytically he was a little better with Chernyshov/Smith/Graf.
@CrashDummy12x@JFreshHockey I really thought Frondell would be lined up with Bedard normally, they looked dangerous together on the power play at least. Just having someone capable of hammering one timers from the circle probably nets Bedard another ~20 assists alone.
