The fact that any team in the NHL would do this shit on the heels of losing Claude is pure trash. They're 4% of the population and 98% of them don't even know what icing is.

I’m not trying to make excuses for Ryan Whitney but his day didn’t just start when he showed up to the game in Buffalo. The man was rollerblading on the highway at noon risking his life to get the city going. Basically his beer chug was a double overtime pizza up the middle but he’d already lugged 38 minutes of amazing hockey. Life isn’t fair. He was playing the perfect game and just had that one brain fart. Kinda like Evan Bouchard sometimes. They’re now calling the dead arm double clutch chug “the Whitney”. His kids friends will be mocking him for eternity. This all has massive ripple effect consequences that will have a generational impact. I’m still processing it.
