@MilliBallrStair @QHockeyBlog@THNRyanKennedy What’s not defensible is the year BC had this year. Another year or two of this with the talent they get and I’d think the support for coaching staff wanes. Team had no heart this season when it mattered.
@StanFischler@SummerAlpha@NYRangers@NHLBruins management is no different. Two of the best coaches in the league (Cassidy, Montgomery) are leading teams into playoffs and winning cups. Both let go and mgmt. ( Neely,Sweeney) keep getting passes. I gave up on them this season for good.
@MikeMcMahonCHN Just curious, is anyone considering the mental health implications for these student athletes? It’s free agency now but also these kids are now essentially getting fired nwhen coaches tell them they might not play much next year which is a clear sign they aren’t wanted.
@HockeyThinkTank There’s too much coaching, period. It’s our culture now but too much specialization and not enough free play to encourage creativity and synthesizing the benefits of playing multiple sports and activities. It’s the youth sports industry that’s truly not helping.
@clasbywalsh@MikeMcMahonCHN They don’t have to and athletic departments need to balance title IX and other financial considerations. Also, they needed to takeout NIL loophole as some schools were using it in lieu of scholarships.
@walsha It’s also a wildly expensive sport to play. I love it as a sport but people who play the sport then watch it and it’s not really growing in the US.
@BCHockeyBlogger Having a team not play for a month even a team as talented as they are is never good. The loss was partly a victim of their own success and recruiting with so many world junior kids. Way more parity now and Merrimack played two games while BC didn’t. They weren’t ready to plsy.
@MikeMcMahonCHN The NCAA had to do something because schools were circumventing scholarship rules with NIL. I’m totally in favor with what they did or the inmates would be running the asylum. The inequality in major college sports including college hockey is going to get worse.
@mvlax1@HockeyThinkTank You don’t want to overreact but after all we are talking about the US hockey system and there should be a focus on US players and making sure there’s a system to develop US players. I think there could be a limit or a backlash here.
@MikeMcMahonCHN Will a CHL player come down for a 1/2 scholarship and pay 30-40k per year in tuition and expenses? Might feel like more with exchange rate l.
@noahsflood_@brithume Can anyone in MAGA movement take accountability for anything? Your guy has a concept of a plan for healthcare? He has no plans for anything except power.
