I actually agree with the people saying Nate's death felt forced in EP7

Not because Nate deserved to live.
But because Nate was never stupid.

We're talking about a guy who spent 3 seasons manipulating people, staying multiple steps ahead, covering his tracks and always finding a way out.

So how am I supposed to believe that a man living in a $5 million mansion couldn't figure out a way to deal with a $600,000 debt?

Sell the house, Refinance it, Borrow against it etc

There were options.

Instead, the show suddenly had Nate making one terrible decision after another until he ended up dead.

And that's my issue.
I don't hate that Nate died.
I hate that the writers made Nate less intelligent than the Nate we've known for years just to get him there.

Nate died because the plot wanted him dead.

And honestly, that's why the death still feels controversial.
