@Sir_Romanus@BigDickBarclay Actually loads of people did, better character than Rey was. Finn wasn’t a clone. He was a human taken from his parents as a baby and trained into a stormtrooper. The empire phased out clones within the first 10 years of it’s takeover. The sequels are based 45 years afterwards.
@Kylerm146110M@Keemotionx We are trying to justify 30fps for a game of this scale. unfortunately consoles with CPU’s designed 8 years ago physically cannot handle the scale and complexity of GTA VI’s world simulation/NPC logic at 60fps, nothing rockstar does will make it run at 60 on current consoles.
@XBOX I get it’s for cost reasons but why not do this in a way that’s more appealing. £/$3.99/4.99 a month for a separate Unlimited Access subscription. That way you’re making £4.99 more per customer than before without killing any chance of new users coming to the service.
Microsoft switches to monthly hour limits in big changes to Xbox Cloud Gaming, cites rising cloud costs:
▪️Game Pass Ultimate: 15 hours
▪️Game Pass Premium: 10 hours
▪️Game Pass Essential: 5 hours
Once subscribers use up their hours, they can buy additional cloud playtime through the Xbox Store

@JRTShadow@XBOX@Microsoft It’s a shitty move but at least do it in a way that’s more appealing and doesn’t kill any chance of new users. Say £/$4.99 a month for a separate unlimited access subscription. Still making £4.99 a month more than before per customer, and makes people more likely to subscribe.
@ARayvar58047@tmo_melonmaster@ALegendaryDrops Like if they did £3.99 or even £4.99 a month for a separate unlimited access subscription, they’re still making £4.99 a month more per user than they were before, and it makes potential new users more likely to subscribe. Current model alienates it completely.
@ARayvar58047@tmo_melonmaster@ALegendaryDrops Yeah. It depends on how it gets priced, if they get that wrong, that becomes near 0%. It’s a huge gamble bc it’s killed any growth of the player base, relying on already existing users now. I feel like say £3.99 a month for an extra/separate subscription is much more appealing.
@TigernachTora@ShitpostRock Also they way they word and propose things has a massive effect. If I have to ‘buy more hours’, massively puts me off. If I have to pay a 4.99 a month extra subscription to use it for say 50-100 hours, much more likely to pay that and other players are more likely to.
@TigernachTora@ShitpostRock Yeah, issue is their solution to costs has just made their already small player base even smaller, so now they’re running a more expensive service that even less people will use.
@iAmJoe616@whereisaaron The way it’s framed also has a massive effect, if I have to ‘buy more hours’, massively puts me off, if I was to say, pay an extra £2.99/3.99 a month as an extra subscription for a service, yes you’re still paying for hours but the player base is much more likely to keep playing.
@iAmJoe616@whereisaaron Yeah but the issue is their solution to combat costs is drive away everyone’s motivation to actually use it, so now that 4% of users becomes 2%/1% and all of a sudden they’re spending more money on a service that even less people are now using.
@MGBootyClap I mean I use it alot when I’m away from home. It’s just greedy, Like I get it if it was a smaller company but this is Microsoft we’re on about. Their solution to costs is “let’s just kill any motivation for our cloud users to use this feature.” losing them even more money.
@ARayvar58047@tmo_melonmaster@ALegendaryDrops I mean they’ve effectively just killed the last good form of cloud gaming with this. Nvidia pulled this shit a few months ago with GeForce NOW and the amount of people using the service has since plummeted through the fucking floor. 15 hours a month with ULTIMATE is ridiculous
@LigmaBigs@ArmchairAdml The CPU physically cannot handle processing the world simulation/logic instructions 60 times per second, it is being pushed to its limits, no amount of graphical change will solve that. the cpu handles the world logic and you can’t just adjust that part of the game like graphics.
@JakeParkerLIVE EXACTLY, console development first ensures they know that what they’ve developed as a baseline actually works and can then be improved on and ported over to PC in the following months. If they promise PC day 1 and something goes wrong at the baseline it would be development hell.
@Kevbenz95@OneSneakyBoi1@_ImRefuse_@charlieINTEL It’s unfortunate cause I’m sure rockstar would’ve loved to give us these graphics at 60fps but on hardware designed 8 years ago it’s just not feasible without making the game look nothing like it did today.
@Kevbenz95@OneSneakyBoi1@_ImRefuse_@charlieINTEL I think it’s a mix of the 2 in GTA 6’s case specifically, you can see the graphics cutbacks and visual tricks they’ve had to utilise to hit 30fps on 8 year old hardware designs whilst looking good, and the CPU part of the APU can’t handle the game logic and Density above 30fps.
@Jake110619@LeviGary_ Yeah I get you, I mean you can already see the graphical cutbacks they’ve had to make just to hit 30fps. I’m sure they’ll get close to 60 with the ps5 pro but on the consoles with APU’s designed in 2018/19 it’s just not gonna be possible to hit 60 without decimating the graphics
@Jake110619@LeviGary_ No I know, don’t get me wrong, I want 60fps as well, but what I’m saying is that they likely had to reduce it to a level where the game actually looks dogshit to hit that 60fps, and people would end up willingly choosing 30fps so they can actually see what’s happening in game.
@Unluckyknight2@daz_black Yeah but the issue is console hardware, consoles got more powerful but graphics got better at a rate faster than console hardware can handle. These consoles are 6 years old already. The fact they’ve even managed to achieve 30fps with those graphics is a miracle in itself.
