A friend living in the UK with her husband, her mum has DOWN SYNDROME (Imbe). The guy's mum then said Over her dead body will her son marry from such a family that she fears for her grandkids becoming that way. The first issue was that she wasn't Igbo, and then the DS issue arose.
She cried her eyes out back then, we cried with her too because it was overbearing. For 6 months, the marriage was on hold, the boy literally was begging his mum every single day on his knees. Mind you, his mum is very educated and lives in wealth, but she was so scared for her future grandchildren.
My friend would ask us "Is it my fault my mum is an imbecile? Can't I live my life? Is it not enough that someone raped my mum and impregnated her and then she had my twin brother and me? What does life want from me? They mock us every day because of my mum's condition, can't I find happiness and live?"
We her friends could only encourage her because we knew the abuse her grandmother who gave up her life to look after her down syndrome child face everyday, people mock her and her child over a little quarrel, she gave up everything to look after her daughter before she was raped and had her grandkids.
I'd like to ask
1. Is it the same Nigerians who mock Mr and Mrs Mbakara over their down syndrome child that are acting all morally upright?
2. Is it the same Nigerian Christians who gossip about a rich couple with a child with Down syndrome and accuse them of using the child for a money ritual who are acting all morally upright?
3. Is it the same Nigerians who end relationships because their partner has a down syndrome family member that are acting all morally upright?
4. Is it the same Nigerians who have never donated or supported kids with Down syndrome or autism who are acting all morally upright?
5. Is it the same Nigerians who have never adopted disabled children not to talk of down syndrome or autistic children that are acting all morally upright?
6. Is it the same Nigerian Christians who keep a distance when an Imbe saliva is dripping from their mouth and frown at the mum for not holding the child close who are acting all morally upright?
7. Is it the same Nigerians who abuse and mock parents especially mothers on social media especially on TikTok with down syndrome children that are acting all morally upright?
8. Is it the same Nigerian Christians who believe someone with a child with Down syndrome is facing the punishment for their sins who are acting all morally upright?
These so-called Nigerians are acting all morally upright so soon and acting like they love down syndrome kids treat children who are their house help like a piece of trash.
These same Nigerians you're listening to especially my fellow Christians among them will never dedicate 1 hour of their 24 hours to run around with you for hospital, specialist and therapy visitation if you have a child with Down syndrome.
These same Nigerians will never support you financially when you're getting drained over hospital bills for your child with Down syndrome.
Remember you'll never stop visiting the hospital; in some cases, the child will live their life in constant visits to the hospital.
I've seen what Down syndrome is, it's not the same as autism and both are also not easy, they ain't easy at all, not easy on the kids 😭 nor the parents.
Every single day that my friend faces mockery over her mum's Down syndrome how much more the grand mum.
None of you has ever supported your family members who have Down syndrome or autistic children, never! Not in caregiving or financially and you're here acting all morally upright.
I couldn't sleep because I was thinking about those days and how my friend was bullied and mocked for how their granny gave up her life to care for the down syndrome daughter. Kaiii
Please get the hell out of my TL you hypocritical piss of shits.
Man you people are exhausting. Every damn thing is an opportunity to score cheap points in the so called "gender war". Get your head out your ass for once and actually see a tweet for what it actually is without running some dumb ass agenda...jeez!
Lol
So now that you've posted this here, what do you want us to do??
You apply as a Field Verification Officer at a purely Riba-based Organization, and you want to come and do "Deen over Dunya"???
Sh. Ibn Uthaymeen stated that working in Riba based organizations is Haram, regardless of whether you are a Loan officer or a Gateman (meaning whether you participate directly or indirectly).
In this case, you are a FVO, meaning you participate directly.
A Field Verification Officer (FVO) is responsible for conducting on-site verification of customers, businesses, guarantors, and collateral to ensure that all information provided is accurate and genuine. They visit locations, inspect assets, verify identities and business operations, and submit reports that help financial institutions assess risk before approving interest-based loans and other financial services.
Alhamdulillah that they refused to reschedule. Allâh just saved you from Haram earnings. Be grateful to Imaobong and Moniepoint that they didn't consider your prayer time. If not, you would have gotten a job that isn't permissible for you.
May Allah make it easy.
And a call to Non-Interest organizations to explore the Fintech space on a Broader scale to give us services like Opay, Moniepoint, Kuda etc.
The first shock of my life as a Nigerian while growing up was when I went to some of my friends’ houses and I discovered that they used to thank their parents after eating.
@callypepper There are several ways for you to teach them how to show gratitude, it’s your sole responsibility to feed your kids. They shouldn’t be thanking you for performing your duties.
At my direction, following the visit of a high-level Federal Government delegation that I sent to the Esiele and Yawota communities in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State, I have approved the recruitment of 1,000 forest guards in collaboration with the Oyo State Government.
My younger brother took the contact of my elder sisters boyfriend without my sisters consent, he called the young man and bluntly said “do you intend marrying my elder sister or you just want to knack her to your satisfaction and dump her?.
I have been watching your movement for the past three months and your ways are not pure. If after one year you don’t marry my sister i will do something and scatter the relationship.
And oh! He did. Six months later my sister got married to another man.
