I saw a video yesterday where Dr. Sharafdeen was talking about some of his efforts in Sudan and how Allaah crowned it in KSA.

Dr said while he was there translating to the Yoruba language some good Islamic books, his colleagues makes jest at him and told him Yorubas prefer the English language to their mother tongue

Well, he didn't cease to translate more and more books till he got to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to further his studies.

While studying he discovered that just a book was printed in the Yoruba language by the Kingdom and even the translation is nothing to write home.

Out of various books on benefits, the Yoruba language has just one and even that one was really poor, Dr was sad about such development but Allaah is the best of planners.

The main book translated was reviewed, and some beneficial words have been added, hence a need to improve the Yoruba version to the current state.

Dr said an official came from the ministry looking for whom will assist them in the task, he was fortunate to meet Dr Sharafdeen who offered to assist.

However, on the condition that he will translate everything again because the Yoruba version they have is really poor. The man was surprised because the deadline was fast approaching.

Well if something is important to you you will always have time regardless of how busy you are.

Dr told him he shouldn't worry about that, they will get everything before the deadline he assured. Taken aback again was the official but he summoned the courage to give Shaykh the benefit of the doubt.

Alas, before the deadline our noble Shaykh has done a perfect job, his Yoruba colleagues haven't even finished the little addition to the main book given to them.

The official was surprised and appreciated the efforts, and what made us know that?

He came back from the ministry to meet Shaykh and ask him if he can do more translations to Yoruba, Shaykh told him he has many here with him, and I think he stored them on his CD ROM.

Remember Shaykh has been translating from Sudan before he got to Saudi? And his mate used to laugh at him then? So those translations he did some years back are the ones Allaah already has plans for.

The man asked for seven, and he offered them seven translations of very beneficial books, I think he mentioned kitabu tawheed to be part of it.

The official appreciated him, and the ministry, sought his permission to reprint it, he replied best in the manner you are guessing.

He permitted them to do so as long as everyone speaking Yoruba be it Nigeria or Benin or Togo will have access to it.

From there, he continued to be one of the translators for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for the Yoruba language.

We can see how Allaah used to bless efforts, Allaah knows how many versions have been printed, only our Lord knows the number of people that will continue to benefit from it.

We should continue to do whatever we know is good even when we have no supporters or we are mocked.

May Allaah elongate the lives of all Sunni scholars in the world, and preserve Shaykh Dr. Sharafdeen Gbadebo Raji for Yoruba land and environs.

Sapa is a dehumanizer and once some rich people smell it on you, they'll use you. I was a home lesson teacher for two children, back in Lafia, Nasarawa State. Their father was a justice. Their house was beautiful, spacious and neat, with police orderlies around. I was so happy that this man would turn my life around, when he sees how much I turn his children's lives around.

On the first day, they brought me bread, omelette and tea. Of course, I was hungry. I ate it all and left no crumb, literally. This became a routine since then. They'd bring me cracker biscuits and malt on days that they didn't cook. I was teaching the older son Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. I taught the younger one Maths and general science. Anyways, my teaching was so good that there was an observable difference in their performances within a month.

At the end of the first month, I didn't receive the ₦15,000 we agreed on. Whenever I got there to teach, I wouldn't meet their father. He was either not at home or busy upstairs. I would ask the children whether "Daddy" sent them to me but their replies were always negative. "Be patient with rich people. He's testing you," I would tell myself.

The second month ended and I still kept going. In the middle of the third month, I reached out to the person that connected me to them. "Were they always giving you food and were you always eating?" I paused for a while before nodding my head. "Ah! You don't eat in a rich man's house unless he has paid you first," said my connect. I have not heard that rule before.

I stopped eating since then but I kept teaching the kids. I started missing some days too. Towards the end of the third month, he left an envelope for me. I kept it in my pocket and taught the boys joyfully. Finally, I have been paid. My labour and patience had yielded fruits. I got home, opened the envelope and met ₦10,000 in it. I couldn't hold back my tears. That was the last day I went to their house to teach.
