Having a standalone Siri app has more benefits than just having a log of all the questions one's asked the assistant.
Of course, it's great to have all the chats so that one can revisit/reuse them later, but there's one very important additional benefit.
Much like Claude projects, the different Siri chat bubbles can be trained to perform some specific tasks, and Siri understands the context and keeps it in memory.
For instance, I've set a calendar bubble, a video scripts bubble, reminders bubble, and more.
Siri behaves differently in each chat. For the scripts portion, I've given it around 5 of my past scripts and it's now understood my speaking patterns, commonly used phrases, and more. If I ask for a script elsewhere, it gives a rather generic script.
Cool stuff.
iOS 27:
I've been testing it the whole night, and here's my take so far...
Though the cosmetic/visual changes are being talked about a lot, there's way more to the story.
The iPhone and the mac (have been testing just these two for now) have become your super personal machines now. I can't believe I have already replaced 2 paid subscriptions with Siri, of all the assistants.
The fact that Siri has access no other tool does (your notes, reminders, etc) natively gives it such a cool advantage. If you are someone who loves staying organized and productive throughout the day, you will be able to relate very well with iOS 27.
You will finally feel like you are in control of things. And, this is barely day 1, things are likely to improve.
There are some bugs (screenshots, even after you crop them, show up uncropped in the Photos app, for example), but not as weird as iOS 26 by any means.
And yes, that Spatial Reframe thingy is plain bad for now 🤡
I've always been a critic when it comes to Apple Intelligence and Siri.
So, when I say they've done something awesome this time around, know that they definitely have.
These new changes are not gimmicks, they are really very good. And, the best part is, they will vary per user. Everyone will be able to use their phones as they want to use their phones.
iOS 27, even in the developer beta 1, is turning out to be really good...
With iOS 27, Apple has finally delivered.
Your phone has finally become yours.
Siri is way way better now, and the shortcuts are awesome. One can finally use their phone as they want to use their phone.
And this is barely scratching the surface, I've let Siri made my entire day schedule, send it to my team, add it to my reminders, and even to more. And by just typing what I want, I've added several personalisations in seconds.
Awesome stuff.
