As a Product Designer, these were my biggest takeaways:

@getladda in 3months? Please clarify, I was alarmed when I got the email. If you had this plan for a full year, that would be 60% and the yearly presto plan doesn't return that.

Typical race nomenclature are:
• 5k
• 10k
• 21k (half-marathon)
• 42k (marathon)
• >42k (ultra-marathon) &
• Stage races (over several days)

My contribution to this conversation is that the Access Bank Lagos City Marathon not having the 21k format is a missed opportunity.

Running 10km is not a marathon, a marathon is 42km.

This run cost me 400k and almost cost me my life.

At the finish line, I went to pick up my medal.

I got into a stampede, they were fighting for the medals (Typical Nigerians), they were stepping on a man, I tried to save his life cus he fainted.

Before you know it, I was in the mans position too, they were stepping on me, I couldn’t breathe, i screamed for help 💔

In the process of leaving the chaos alive, I lost my sony XM6, and my running Shades

I’m glad I left alive and with my phone.

The organizers of the Lagos City Marathon need to be better with medal collection; every time. For the biggest race in Nigeria, & of this standard, figuring it out shouldn’t be this hard.

People fell, fought, got injured. It was a shit show.

Also, the barrier that was dropped at the entrance of eko hotel probably made that guy lose the first place.

And they should please mop the finish line.
