🟥🚨 A reminder of when TWENTY-THREE players were sent off after the final whistle between Cruzeiro and Atlético-MG
A brawl broke out after the Minas Gerais State Championship final match between the two Brazilian clubs back in March, but that doesn’t even tell half the story 😕
The descriptions in the official match report are absolutely wild:
📝 “After being fouled, he knocked down his opponent, charged at him, and brutally struck his opponent, number 88, in the face with his knee. I clarify that after this action, a general brawl broke out, making it impossible not to issue a red card.”
😳 “For striking his opponent, number 22, in the head with his shin, using excessive force and high intensity, when the ball was already in the goalkeeper’s possession.”
👊 “Sent off for punching and kicking his opponents during the brawl after the match ended, and it was impossible not to show a red card due to the chaos.”
A huge thank you to everyone @FCBarcelona for coming to our city and being such wonderful guests. 🤝
Together we created one special atmosphere and united two sets of passionate fans. That’s the true power of football.
Until next time!
I’m very grateful to everyone at Barcelona for making my time here such a positive and memorable experience. I’ve enjoyed every moment and will take many special memories with me.
I wish the club and all its supporters the very best of luck and every success in the season ahead.
