Honestly, it depends.

A friend once ghosted me. Very close friend. We've been tight since high school. I've been to and slept in her family house and vice versa. Went for her wedding and all.

All of a sudden, she just went mute.

Every effort to reach her failed. I had to reach out to some of her sisters I knew and they kept saying they'll ask her to call me. Reassured me she was okay( but I guess that's what she told them to tell me).

I still persisted. Months passed and she finally reached out. The story she told is something you wouldn't even wish your worst enemy.

In this 21st century, I could not believe that women still go through what my friend went through in the hands of her husband and his family before they kicked her out. The way they even did it...crazy!!

So yea, people might be going through hellish stuff and they are just too overwhelmed, too ashamed, too traumatised to communicate it with anyone.

And if they mean anything to you, you'll continue to push till, at least, you get some closure.
