Good morning, everyone. First, we want to sincerely appreciate you all for your support and also address the issue of contributions to the petition, in the interest of complete transparency and accountability.

We noticed that a total of ₦82,718 has been contributed through the petition link. We want to make it expressly clear that we do not have access to and have not received any of these funds.

We initially attempted to have the contribution option removed from the petition, but after making further enquiries, we discovered that the funds are paid directly to the petition platform/site and are not held or controlled by us. This also explains why we were unable to have the contribution option removed ourselves.

In view of this, and most importantly to ensure that there is absolutely no question of deviation from the purpose of this petition or any allegation of misapplication of funds, we are asking everyone going forward not to make any further donations or monetary contributions through the petition link.

If you wish to support this cause, please share the petition link, encourage others to sign it, and provide any relevant evidence or information that may assist the work we are currently undertaking. These forms of support are more than sufficient and are directly aligned with the purpose of this petition.

We believe that matters of this nature must be handled with the highest level of accountability and transparency, particularly because this is no longer simply a personal complaint. We are taking the concerns raised seriously and are working with the information and evidence gathered so far.

We also want to sincerely appreciate everyone who has signed the petition, shared their experiences, provided evidence, amplified the matter and supported us in one way or another. The real work has commenced, and we will provide updates when it is appropriate and safe to do so.

It is important to note that we are currently at a highly sensitive stage of this matter, and certain details cannot responsibly be disclosed at this time. We therefore ask everyone to exercise patience while we proceed carefully and deliberately.

NB: For the avoidance of doubt, we are not currently in discussions, negotiations or correspondence with MTN or anyone acting on MTN’s behalf regarding this matter.

Dear @MTNNG I FINALLY HAVE A RESPONSE FOR YOU

After a thorough review and analysis of your response to my earlier sent mail and the documents attached thereto, including an independent assessment by a number of data experts, and having allowed eight (8) days from the date of receipt of your correspondence for the materials provided to be properly scrutinised, I have now concluded my review.

My formal response to your correspondence has accordingly been sent to your email, with the relevant authorities previously copied into this matter by you duly retained in copy @NgComCommission and @fccpcnigeria

For the avoidance of doubt, this Twitter post is also part of my response to MTN’s correspondence. My decision to communicate publicly on the matter does not derogate from, replace or constitute a waiver of my formal written response. Rather, it is an additional exercise of my right to publicly communicate my experience and position concerning a matter that is already the subject of a formal complaint and regulatory engagement.
