City take bragging rights for this round of the Dominion Road Derby and valuable points for the National League - currently sitting in second place with a game in hand on 1st and 3rd place, after today.
A solid performance by the Navy Blues looking good across the park - 3 fine strikes at one end and some keen defense at the other.

Dommage.

Born #OnThisDay 1 October 1942, Jean-Pierre Jabouille would go on to secure his place in the history books when he secured the first win by a turbocharged car at the 1979 French Grand Prix. That it was in a Renault only capped a great day for France. It was the first of two F1 wins in 49 starts – those were to be his only podium finishes – but a broken leg in a crash at the 1980 Canadian Grand Prix all but ended his racing career within F1.
Jabouille didn’t leave the sport behind. He stayed with Ligier as team manager in 1982, later guiding the team’s joint effort with Curb Racing in the 1984 CART series. He also kept racing, turning his attention to the French Supertouring Championship before joining Peugeot’s endurance programme. His work helped push Peugeot to third place at Le Mans in both 1992 and 1993.
Sadly, Jabouille died on 2 February 2023 at the age of 80.
