Ran a half-marathon this morning in wet and humid Hong Kong weather - first one in about a year. The New East Coast Boardwalk elevated path is quite interesting, it feels like you are running on a futuristic brutalist fast track below a highway and above a sea. Views are good too
Tonight on a trail run around the Peak, I saw a masked palm civet for the first time. I thought it was a raccoon, but later found out it was a civet. I couldn’t snap a photo, but it looked like this cutie. #hongkong
Why there are just a few games with heart rate monitor input? It could be so interesting. Higher heart bpm makes your aim shaky and vision blurry, monsters feeding on your fear get stronger or even pace of the game and visuals could depend on it.
Fortunately, this all stopped after I left the peninsulathe fuel supply improved, and they also built geothermal power plants to generate electricity locally. Unfortunately, many of us may soon face this situation in different parts of the world. I hope we don’t have to.
I remember growing up in Kamchatka in the 90s. Fuel tanker delays caused major electricity shortages and no heating during winter, sometimes for weeks. I used gas to boil water, poured it into plastic bottles, and placed them in bed to warm up and avoid freezing through the night
This happened quite frequently, and everyone was angry at the government for failing to keep tankers arriving on time to maintain a stable electricity supply. Yet it was the reality we had to accept: waking up at 3 a.m. during scheduled power windows to cook, wash clothes etc
Planning a business trip to Spain. Next open slot for visa appointment at Spanish Consulate in Hong Kong is on… 20 April (45 days from now). I was expecting that it could take some time, but this is just too much.
There's a lot of rubbish on Netflix - but I've found a number of great Thai and Indian movies, plus some good series. The secret is to research before you invest your time watching. Go on IMDB and Rotten Tomatoes, look at as many reviews as possible. You'll get the gist of what's good and what's bad. The awful stuff I regret watching is usually always something I never researched beforehand.
