Report by Rustem Umerov on the results of the first stage of work with our partners in the Middle East and Gulf region. Importantly, Ukraine’s military expertise is recognized, and the combat experience of our warriors is becoming a strong component of partners’ defense. Every nation deserves security, and we are ready to provide prompt and effective support to those who support our state and independence. This applies to protection against attack drones and other UAV types in the air, as well as to addressing maritime security tasks – Ukraine’s experience in the Black Sea can also be put to use on other globally important maritime routes.

At this stage, Ukraine is in communication on security matters with Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Jordan, Türkiye, Syria, Oman, Kuwait, and Bahrain. We have received requests for engagement with Iraq. Today, we also discussed prospects for joint work with the countries of the Caucasus, as well as East and Southeast Asia. There are also substantive requests from countries in Africa. We are preparing the basis for deeper security agreements in Europe as well – we expect to achieve results this very week. I have instructed the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine to finalize drafts of several new security agreements and prepare them for signing. Glory to Ukraine!

Доповідь Рустема Умєрова за підсумками першого етапу роботи з нашими партнерами в регіоні Близького Сходу та Затоки. Важливо, що українська військова експертиза визнається, а бойовий досвід наших воїнів стає сильною частиною захисту партнерів. Кожен народ заслуговує на безпеку, і ми готові оперативно та дієво підтримувати тих, хто підтримує нашу державу й незалежність. Це стосується захисту від ударних та інших типів дронів у небі, а також вирішення безпекових завдань на морі – український досвід у Чорному морі може бути застосований і на інших глобально важливих морських шляхах.

На цьому етапі Україна перебуває в комунікації щодо безпеки із Саудівською Аравією, Еміратами, Катаром, Йорданією, Туреччиною, Сирією, Оманом, Кувейтом та Бахрейном. Маємо запити щодо взаємодії з Іраком. Сьогодні обговорили потенціал спільної роботи з державами Кавказу, а також Східної та Південно-Східної Азії. Є змістовні запити від держав Африки. Готуємо основу й для більш глибоких безпекових домовленостей у Європі – вже на цьому тижні розраховуємо досягти результатів. Доручив секретарю РНБО України фіналізувати драфти кількох нових безпекових угод і готувати їх до підписання. Слава Україні!

When we were preparing this year’s Easter greeting, we learned that right nearby, also on the grounds of St. Sophia of Kyiv, children of Ukraine’s defenders from Kyiv and the Kyiv region had gathered at the same time – children whose parents, sadly, were killed in this war.

An excursion, an Easter egg-hunting quest, traditional spring and Easter songs, and workshops on making stained glass were organized for them by the Socially Responsible Business Platform “To the Children of Our Defenders,” which brings together entrepreneurs and the state to support children who have lost their parents because of the war.

The participants of the platform are always close to the families of defenders – organizing trips, rest, activities, and education, creating important moments of warmth and care.

So we joined this moment at St. Sophia and came to wish the children a Happy Easter. The smiles we were greeted with are priceless. We want and must do everything so that the children of those who gave the most precious thing for Ukraine’s security never lose their faith in the world.

We invite businesses, entrepreneurs, and all caring people across different regions to join the “To the Children of Our Defenders” Platform, support its initiatives, and launch their own efforts to help the children of defenders.

Not only on holidays – but every day, we are grateful to all who are fighting for Ukraine. And all our care is for their loved ones.

Коли ми готували цьогорічне великоднє привітання, дізналися, що зовсім поряд, теж на території Софії Київської, у цей самий час зібралися діти захисників із Києва й Київщини, чиї батьки, на жаль, загинули на цій війні.

Екскурсію, квест із пошуком писанок, веснянками та гаївками, майстер-класи з виготовлення вітражів для особливих гостей підготувала Платформа соціально відповідального бізнесу «Дітям наших Захисників», яка об’єднує підприємців і державу навколо підтримки дітей, що втратили батьків через війну.

Учасники платформи завжди поряд із родинами оборонців: організовують поїздки, відпочинок, заняття та навчання, створюють важливі моменти тепла й турботи.

Тож долучилися саме до такого моменту в Софії та зайшли привітати дітей із Великоднем. Усмішки, якими нас зустріли, безцінні. Хочеться і треба робити все, щоб діти тих, хто віддав за українську безпеку найцінніше, ніколи не втрачали віри у світ.

Запрошуємо бізнес і підприємців, усіх небайдужих у різних регіонах долучатися до платформи «Дітям наших Захисників», підхоплювати її ініціативи, започатковувати власну підтримку дітей захисників.

Не тільки у свята – щодня наша вдячність усім, хто бореться за Україну. І вся наша турбота – їхнім близьким.

Easter should be a time of security and peace. It would be right for a ceasefire to continue beyond the holiday. We have conveyed this proposal to Russia, and if Russia once more chooses war over peace, it will yet again show the world, and the United States in particular, who truly stands for what. Ukraine will act symmetrically.

Our people are returning home.
175 servicemembers. Warriors of the Armed Forces, National Guard members, border guards. Privates, sergeants, and officers. And seven civilians.

Our warriors defended Ukraine on different fronts – Mariupol, the Chornobyl Nuclear Power Plant, the Donetsk, Luhansk, Kharkiv, Kherson, Zaporizhzhia, Sumy, Kyiv, and Kursk directions. Some of them are wounded. Most have been in captivity since 2022. And finally – they are home.

I thank every unit that replenishes our exchange fund and thereby brings the return of our people closer. Bringing everyone back from Russian captivity is a matter of principle for us. I thank everyone in the world who is helping us with this.

Наші повертаються додому.
175 військових. Воїни Збройних Сил, нацгвардійці, прикордонники. Рядові, сержанти та офіцери. І семеро цивільних.

Наші воїни захищали Україну на різних напрямках: у Маріуполі, на ЧАЕС, на Донецькому, Луганському, Харківському, Херсонському, Запорізькому, Сумському, Київському, Курському напрямках. Серед них є поранені. Більшість була в полоні з 2022 року. І нарешті – вдома.

Дякую кожному підрозділу, який поповнює наш обмінний фонд і цим наближає повернення наших людей. Повернути всіх із російського полону для нас принципово. Дякую кожному у світі, хто допомагає нам у цьому.
