If you have ever struggled w/ self love you'd know someone showing you unconditional love doesn't automatically make you love yourself. You'd feel something like "I can't for the life of me see what they love in a horrible person like me but I'll do anything to deserve that love"

Sanji has always been my favorite Straw Hat after Luffy, but I genuinely never expected the long-running theory about him eventually awakening Conqueror’s Haki to come true. Unlike most characters who possess it, Sanji never seemed to have the kind of obvious kingly ambition that made me think it was even possible.
That’s why what Gaban said really hit me. The idea that Sanji may have the qualities of a conqueror but is held back by his own painful uncertainty makes so much sense. 💔 It fits perfectly with the self-loathing and inner conflict he still struggles with, even after Whole Cake Island and throughout Wano.
Now I’m genuinely excited to see how Oda develops Sanji’s “kingly” ambition🔥
What I also find fascinating is the contrast between Zoro and Sanji. Oda revealed Zoro’s Conqueror’s Haki before Zoro himself even realized he had it, whereas Sanji’s journey seems to be centered around overcoming his internal struggles first. It reminds me of Rayleigh’s explanation that Conqueror’s Haki can only be strengthened by the user’s own growth. For Zoro, that growth has largely been physical. For Sanji, it seems like it will be emotional. That difference in their development is something I really love.
As a huge Sanji fan—and someone who loves the Zoro and Sanji duo—this chapter was an absolute joy to read. I can’t wait to see where Oda takes this next😭🔥
