Complexity rarely arrives all at once.

One idea from Clean Code, the classic software engineering book by Robert C. Martin:

A function should do one thing.

Validation → DB → email → analytics → “one more condition”…

Soon, nobody wants to touch it.

Unpopular opinion:

Microservices are overused.

Many teams split systems too early, then spend months fixing complexity they created themselves.

A good monolith would’ve been faster, cheaper, and easier to maintain.
