Key due dates:

🔸 31 July 2026: Salaried individuals, pensioners, and taxpayers filing ITR-1 and ITR-2.
🔸31 August 2026: Professionals, freelancers, and non-audit business cases.
🔸31 October 2026: Taxpayers requiring a tax audit.
🔸30 November 2026: Taxpayers covered under transfer pricing provisions.
🔸December 31, 2026:  Last date to file a belated return for Assessment Year 2026-27

Before you file:

🔸The New Tax Regime is the default, but you can choose the Old Tax Regime if it benefits you more.
🔸Under Section 87A, eligible taxpayers under the New Tax Regime may get a rebate with zero tax on income up to ₹12 lakh, subject to the law’s conditions.
🔸Check your AIS and Form 26AS before filing to avoid mismatches and notices.
🔸ITR-1 can now be used if you have income from up to two house properties, provided you meet the other eligibility rules.
🔸Filing after the due date may attract a late fee under Section 234F of up to ₹5,000.
