If you're a Product Designer and your total design (any role) experience is less than 3 years, DON’T EVEN OPEN FIGMA if your client asks you to design a product. Generative UI solutions like @v0, @lovable, and @stackblitz will design it better and create a real prototype for you. Focus on the user journey, ship faster, and get real customer feedback sooner. If I were that client, I would not even consider hiring a beginner designer for that, since there is most likely someone in the company with a much better understanding of the product already who can prompt AI to prototype it.
There are so many products being released that are designed by humans and look completely terrible. I’m not talking about fancy gradients, shadows, or 3D buttons—I’m talking about basics like typography and layout composition. AI already does a much better job there than most beginners. In this v0 example, there are many things that are not perfect, but they are not too bad.
Leave drawing in Figma for your free time; craftsmanship will still be valuable at any time, but it will take you years to master it. There is no need to bring a worse-quality solution into the world at the client’s expense.
never have i been as excited as where we are right now as brand designers. i can make a pattern visualizer in @v0 in 20 mins, bring things into AE and manipulate things in so many ways. combine that with other tools and the possibilities are fucking endless. golden era.
In the last 72 hours, @samdape and I converted a web app made on @v0 to a native iPhone app that you can download rn in the App Store.
And, I only wrote 10% of the code lol.
Here's how I did it + some prompts to help you do the same 🧵
Extremely proud of the @vercel edge security team.
What you see below are DDoS mitigations that kicked in protecting a customer *from a popular CDN provider that was supposed to do this job in the first place 😵💫*.
A redundant layer of *in*security if you will.
