Honestly I wasn’t going to say anything publicly but now that Netflix Bebop has been canceled, I would just like to point out that the main issue was not Ed, or Vicious, but rather that it recreated a piece of media with defined political statements and removed every. last. one.
@vonpeepster It's what happens when unfettered capitalism and sociopathy have a baby. The thing that consistently baffles me is that there's a whole group of people on the receiving end of the ridiculousness who will fight to keep the status quo, even while begging strangers for survival.
"This is all very confusing but I respect everyone" isn't the pro-trans statement that some people think it is.
Like, is it "very confusing" or do you just have more to learn?
If you have more to learn, say that instead. It's okay not to know something.
We're seeing now exactly why every big company is fighting against universal health care.
Decouple health insurance from work and people are free to quit their bad jobs.
If people quit their bad jobs, companies will have to pay living wages to attract workers.
Can't have that.
Um so "trans men are men" does not mean "trans men are basically identical to cis men".
It means "some men are, in fact, trans men."
Cis men are not actually the baseline, measuring stick, or end goal. 🤷♂️
As I was watching 'Shang-Chi' for the (... let's just say umpteenth time) I realized there is a series I need.
There's a line in the film that got me thinking (not a spoiler): "We live in a world where half the population can disappear in an instant."
That got me thinking.
re-engage with their life. I want to see the substance use therapist helping people find purpose again.
We focus so much on superhuman strength that we forget about the unbreakable human strength the people around us use every day.
These are the heroes I want to see next.
Show me a psychologist, weary from her own grief, grasping at straws to keep one foot in front of the other, splashing water on her face between sessions to get grounded and reset for her next patient. Show me a person trying to help a highly anxious, traumatized patient
