The whole "no one is actually looking at you and judging you" thing is blatantly false. They are totally looking and judging. Personally I examine and assess strangers all the time. However, I do not CARE, it's just idle observation. And that's the true important takeaway: the judgment of strangers is unimportant because they are not invested in your life and have no stake in what you do or how you do it.
