In light of the recently leaked trainee videos involving LISA, JENNIE, and ROSÉ, we want to state clearly: we do not tolerate discrimination in any form. We acknowledge that certain words or actions — regardless of intent — can carry deep cultural significance, and it is important to approach this matter with sensitivity, responsibility, and clarity, not excuses.

The videos in question, filmed over a decade ago during BLACKPINK’s trainee era, were recorded in private, non-public settings and were never intended for release. They were leaked by unknown sources (allegedly an ex-YG employee) who wanted to target BLACKPINK. They are now being deliberately weaponized to incite hate and tarnish the reputations of members who were, at the time, young individuals still learning, growing, and adapting to new cultural environments. There is no evidence of malicious intent to harm, mock, or disrespect any group. It is important to understand that every culture is not the same, some things might align, but they process things differently. We strongly believe they shouldn’t be judged and blamed for content taken out of its original context, time, and purpose.

It is unfortunate that some of the songs used in these monthly evaluation performances contained a racial slur, word that, while part of globally recognized songs, should never have been verbalized. This was a mistake, one rooted in a lack of awareness rather than malice. At the time, the members were young trainees navigating a new cultural environment, put under constant pressure of being told what to do — but in fact the real responsibility lies with the industry and its companies, including YG Entertainment (@ygent_official), for failing to provide proper cultural education. This underscores the urgent need for industry-wide accountability, ensuring that both companies and trainees receive proper cultural education as K-pop continues its global expansion. Communication has been made with YG and respective labels to prevent such incidents from ever happening again.

As one of the biggest fanbase of BLACKPINK, we take this opportunity to sincerely apologize to those who are hurt, unintentionally, by this incident. However, we will never tolerate the weaponization of this issue to spread hate or tarnish the members’ reputations.

@BLACKPINK has always demonstrated respect, inclusivity, and love toward fans of all backgrounds. Their past and present actions speak louder than manipulated narratives from outdated, private moments beyond their control. While we have firmly supported BLACKPINK and forever will, we also believe in holding them accountable if any member were to act inappropriately. However, in this case, we stand with them, as they do not deserve the unwarranted hate, insults and accusations being directed at them.

Moving forward, we ask the fandom to be more understanding and respectful. Thank you very much. 🖤💗
