However, the results are inconclusive due to the lack of alternate options in the vote. Additionally, votes were allocated to exchange and smart contract wallets, inflating the required quorum. To ensure a fair and comprehensive decision-making process, we will deploy a new governance proposal and take a new snapshot of the allocation of votes. 📝

Sad state for NFTs and there are valid points made. Speculation was rampant and it will happen again. These cycles of hype and bust are inevitable in an emerging asset class.

I disagree that NFTs are inherently no better than memecoins though.

Many major gaming franchises took years to fully develop their IP. Minecraft started as a small indie project in 2009 before growing into a global phenomenon. Rovio released over 50 games before hitting it big with Angry Birds in 2009. World of Warcraft, released in 2004, has grown into a massive franchise with multiple expansions, books, and even a movie adaptation.

NFTs + Gaming open up new possibilities that are simply not possible with Web2 models. But when money is involved, speculation is inevitable. Good or bad, this provides liquidity and funding for early-stage projects to build. Early stages markets are always inefficient in allocating capital. They get better with each cycle.

Many innovations in tech (dot-com era, early mobile apps) had boom and bust cycles before the winners emerged. Amazon survived the dot-com bust and went on to become a giant.

There are dedicated teams like @pudgypenguins @Bullieverse @Azuki @yugalabs working to build IP with toys, games, anime videos, etc. - We are still early but a lot of progress is being made. 2 years is nothing when compared to how the Disneys / WoWs of the next decade are built while the IP being co-owned and co-created by passionate online communities.
