Metric has partnered with @PythNetwork.
This means Metric can now use Pyth’s real-time prices for crypto, stocks, currencies and commodities.
These prices help Metric show users the current value of the assets used in its Active Pools.
the list of institutions publishing into Pyth is getting pretty bizarre.
Kalshi, Coinbase, Jane Street, Cboe, Tradeweb, Virtu, SGX FX, Revolut, Fenics and more.
these aren't all doing the same thing either, you've got exchanges, market makers, banks, trading firms, fin-techs, OTC data providers and prediction markets all sitting at different points in the market-data supply chain and now that data is flowing through the same price layer.
@PythNetwork has more than 138 institutions publishing data, while Pyth Pro has grown to 3,501 feeds, including 1,901 equity feeds and that data is being used across way more than just crypto.
Coinbase uses Pyth across crypto, equities and FX for real-time pricing, collateral valuation and liquidations.
Kalshi uses it for prediction market resolution, while institutions like SGX FX and Fenics bring institutional FX and OTC pricing into the network.
you've basically got completely different parts of financial markets contributing to and using the same market-data infrastructure.
that's a pretty bizarre place for market data to be sitting.
@PythNetwork@Kalshi@coinbase That data can then be used by exchanges, prediction markets, trading platforms, tokenized assets and other financial products.
In simple terms:
The institutions provide the data.
Pyth distributes it.
Other platforms use it.
That’s the main idea behind what Pyth is building.
Think about how many apps need to know the current price of something before they can work properly.
That’s basically what @PythNetwork is helping with. Institutions that are close to the markets provide their price data, and Pyth makes it available for other platforms to use.
The next market data layer is being built by the institutions closest to the markets themselves.
Kalshi. Revolut. Fenics. Coinbase. Jane Street. SGX FX. Cboe. Tradeweb. Virtu. And more.
The common thread? Pyth 🧵
@PythNetwork And it’s not only about crypto.
@PythNetwork gets data from names like @Kalshi, @RevolutApp, @coinbase, Jane Street, Cboe, Tradeweb and Virtu.
That includes prices for stocks, currencies, commodities and other markets.
Zoom out
It's not simply that Pyth powers $600 billion in RWA perp volume
It's the combination of data breadth + institutional real time data + 24/7 markets + actual trading volume
Pyth's data doesn't just exist, it powers an increasingly important segment of financial markets
More assets will move on chain, and Pyth will be the one to price them all
Lock in lads
Real-time prices, thanks to @PythNetwork
Pyth provides live market prices that apps, exchanges and trading platforms can use as prices change.
It works quietly in the background, keeping financial apps up to date
Apple doesn't stop being worth something because it's Saturday.
like how does a company worth trillions of dollars suddenly have no official price just because the market is closed?
yeah, you can always look at the last traded price, but what happens when there's a huge announcement, a major partnership, new product, whatever.
the value can change while the market is closed then you have to wait for Monday for the price to catch up.
that doesn't really make sense to me, especially when onchain markets are already running 24/7.
now US equities are moving toward longer trading hours, with Nasdaq, 24X and NYSE Arca getting approval for extended sessions, but there's still a pretty big gap though, about 32% of the week with no official quote to point to.
onchain has already been covering that gap. @HyperliquidX HIP-3 markets have done over $540B in volume, 407K traders and more than $4B in open interest, with @PythNetwork pricing virtually all of it.
the interesting part is what happens when there isn't an exchange price to pull from. Pyth extends external pricing as far as the market allows, discovery bounds kick in when there isn't an external market, and Pyth Indices can provide a 24/7 reference when there's nothing to observe.
real price when there's a market. bounded discovery when there isn't. a constructed reference when there's nothing to observe.
that's a pretty interesting way to connect traditional market hours with markets that never close.
@PythNetwork TrueCurrent now has 111 equity markets across 8 sectors.
This is where @PythNetwork’s data is important.
The simple idea is: have more stocks, with reliable live prices, ready to trade before the next big story happens.
Most onchain stock markets focus on big tech names.
But the next big story could come from biotech, energy, defense, or another industry.
TrueCurrent is trying to make more of these stocks available before major news happens.
Onchain equities are bigger than Nvidia, Tesla, and the usual Big Tech names.
The next market-moving story could come from biotech, energy, defense, or somewhere else entirely.
@TrueCurrentX is building for that broader market. Here’s what that looks like 👇
For example, $MRNA was already available on TrueCurrent when Moderna released major cancer-treatment news.
So traders could react immediately instead of waiting for a new listing.
@PythNetwork’s market data helps provide the live prices these markets need.
