HB 1521, a trans bathroom ban with criminal penalties of a year in jail, is effective July 1st.

It IGNORES birth certificate sex. "Suspects" will be under criminal investigation.

It applies to bathrooms, public and private universities, airports, parks, beaches, and more.

Researching grad schools and one of my criteria is "which states will I legally be able to functionally exist in in the next few years."
I'm so tired. I can't even imagine what it's like for the folks being directly targeted by these bills. But people think it's about "pronouns."
