The FUNdamentals!

My final major project! A collection of multi-coloured blocks that promote play within all ages.

The blocks are designed to be used in whatever the user sees fit. TV stand? Coffee table?

As play is what? Fundamental.

Wow! Had an amazing few days in Milan with @IKEAUK for the exhibition called ‘1st’ 🇸🇪

I was invited by IKEA to record content for them and it was amazing! Met some lovely new people!

The theme was personal to me as a student experiencing lots of firsts☝🏻🏠

My ‘Hero Board’ for my first final year project! The ‘George Stool’ is a monkey-like companion that has hidden storage inside! It has distinct ‘ear’ handles that comes in multiple colours. 🐒

Second day back as a final year student! Today was “make a chair in a day”- scrap wood ONLY, hand tools ONLY and screws ONLY. Fair to say my hands hurt and nose is full of dust. Just goes to show how quick you can make a design come to life. 🪑@NTUadbe @NTUArtandDesign @TrentUni

@trentbartonland Burton street got completely missed by Rainbow One this morning at 6:30.. even though that road isn’t blocked but the bus went the other way? It’s forced me to have to spend £15 on an Uber to get to work. The Uber just drove past the rainbow one further up on route:( disappointed

Eupnea - “the state of normal, good and healthy breathing.” Brief was to make a product to help encourage workers back into the office after covid-19. Eupnea is a detachable fidget arm accessory that helps reduce anxiety, relieve muscle tension and improve focus. @TrentUni

New brief for @Orangebox_LTD all about ‘Well-being in the evolving workplace’. My first set of ideas is fidget chairs. Adapting Orangebox’s contemporary ‘Cubb’ chair with arms that also work as fidgets, to help reduce stress within the workplace. @TrentUni #furnituredesign

Went bodging today! Made the cutest stool and had the best time with @TrentUni. Used a lathe to create interesting shapes on my hand chopped pieces of wood! I shaved, chopped and carved everything myself! @NTUadbe @NTUArtandDesign #furnituredesignstudent

It features a simple ash frame and abstract hanging features inspired by whimsical architect Alexander Girard.
