Delhi Police has sought the death penalty for Tahir Hussain and four other convicts in the murder case of IB officer Ankit Sharma during the 2020 Delhi riots.

Delhi Police told the court the accused had "turned into beasts" and "lost their humanity," Sharma was brutally tortured, suffered 51 injuries, including 16 sharp-weapon wounds, and was assaulted even after his death. The court will decide on the sentence.

The Karnataka High Court has stayed the Karnataka Government’s Cabinet decision to withdraw 52 criminal cases, including the Alanda riots case. The Hon. High Court has prima facie found fault with the State’s invocation of Section 321 CrPC violating the earlier order of the Karnataka High Court to seek withdrawal of prosecutions against the accused.

Mr. @PriyankKharge must understand the law. Section 321 CrPC is the prerogative of the Public Prosecutor not the Government or the Cabinet. The Cabinet has no authority to direct withdrawal of criminal cases. It’s shocking that this Government attempted to withdraw riot cases involving attacks on police personnel. Shielding those accused of assaulting law enforcement is a grave abuse of power and a betrayal of the rule of law.

Thiru TR Baalu filed a defamation case against me for publishing the assets/companies owned by him and his family through DMK Files & he had sought ₹100 Crores in damages.

As you all know, after a certain time period in the trial, I argued my own case and personally cross-examined him, and the details of which are in the public domain.

Also, during one of the cross-examinations, Thiru TR Baalu made defamatory remarks against me without substance in the court, and I had filed a case against him in the same court for making those allegations within the court premise.

Today, Thiru TR Baalu, out of his own wishes, decided to withdraw the defamation case filed against me by him. He filed the defamation case against me; to carry it further or not was his decision & not mine.

I wish to inform all concerned that I continue to stand by every single remark that I had made against the previous DMK govt and certain members of the DMK party till now.

I wish to thank Adv. Paul Kanagaraj, Adv. Kumaraguru and all members of the BJP legal team for their support during the trial of this case.
